Dr. Jessica Dimmick, AuD

Dr. Jessica Rhodes Dimmick is the President of Hearing Doctors of Iowa and Hearing Doctors of Illinois. A graduate of Western Illinois University and the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Dimmick initially worked in a series of well-established private practices across the United States. Recognized as a leader in assisting patients with the fitting of hearing instruments, Dr. Dimmick pursued the dream of building her own private practice from the ground up, starting with the flagship office in Ankeny, Iowa in March 2017. Through absorption of databases and expansion into her home state of Illinois, by October 2019, Dr. Dimmick had grown her practice to 5 locations spanning 250 miles. Since the conception of the practice in 2017, Dr. Dimmick has added 5 additional providers as well as support staff to develop the practice into a blend of urban and rural care with an eye on future endeavors to come.

Dr. Dimmick was recognized in 2018 by Fortune, Entrepreneur, and O by Oprah magazine, as a leading woman in business in the Midwest. She is a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and has a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as dual licensure in Audiology and Hearing Instrument Dispensing in the states of Iowa and Illinois.

Amy Melik-Israyelyan, Hearing Instrument Specialist

Amy Melik-Israyelyan, Hearing Instrument Specialist

Amy has been practicing as a Hearing Instrument Specialist since 2007. She is licensed to service your hearing needs through the State of Iowa and has long served as a member of the Iowa Hearing Association. She is trained in hearing evaluations, programing, hearing instrument modification and minor repairs as well as continuous training on the newest and finest technology. Amy is an advocate on awareness of the importance of hearing protection, the significance of correcting hearing loss, and the positive impact it will have on the patient and their quality of life. When Amy is not in the office, she enjoys music, art, traveling, and exploring new places with her wonderful son, Michael.

Dr. Nora Martin, AuD

Dr. Nora Martin, AuD

An Iowa native, Dr. Nora Martin obtained her Bachelor of Arts degrees in 2012 from the University of Iowa in Linguistics with an emphasis on Teaching English as a Secondary Language and German. After completing her undergraduate degrees, she enrolled in a prerequisite program for coursework in Audiology. She subsequently received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018.

While in Illinois, she was extensively involved in clinical practices at facilities including ear, nose, and throat (ENT) clinics, private practices, and the Veteran's Administration (VA). Additionally, she played a large role in research settings at the university as a lab manager assessing spoken word recognition for children and adults with normal hearing as well as cochlear implant and hearing aid users. Her Capstone Project aimed to explore tinnitus management and counseling strategies among audiologists. She completed her 4th year externship in 2018 at an ENT practice in Peoria, Illinois, where she was hired as a clinical Audiologist for ENT and vestibular diagnostics and hearing aid evaluations and fittings. She currently maintains Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing licensure in both Iowa and Illinois.

Dr. Martin's professional interests include tinnitus evaluation and treatment, hearing aid evaluation and fitting for the adult population, and vestibular diagnostics. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping up with the ever-changing profession of Audiology through personal research and continuing education, hanging out with her dog Ollie, and trying as many new cooking recipes as possible.

Dr. Katie Ranshaw, AuD

Dr. Katie Ranshaw, AuD

Dr. Katie Ranshaw is an Iowa native, originally from Iowa City. She earned her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Northern Colorado and her Bachelor’s degree from Butler University. Dr. Ranshaw completed her clinical externship at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI specializing in cochlear implant and BAHA technology. She has a special interest in tinnitus management and cochlear implants.

She enjoys providing evidenced-based, patient centered care and teaching each patient how to obtain the most benefit from their device. She holds her certificate of clinical competence in audiology through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Outside of the office, Katie enjoys cooking, rec league sports, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
